Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi is a former international shooter and Bharatiya Janata Party leader. Sodhi was previously a member of the Congress party and has served as a Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Guru Har Sahai constituency in the Firozpur district of Punjab. Sodhi has won four elections in a row from the constituency in 2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017. In the 2017 Punjab Assembly polls, he won the seat by defeating Congress candidate Vardev Singh with a margin of over 5,500 votes. He was also a Cabinet minister in the Amarinder Singh ministry. Considered as a close aide of Amarinder, Sodhi joined the BJP in 2021 and is now contesting from the Firozpur City constituency. He is contesting against Akali Dal's Rohit Vohra and Congress party's sitting MLA Parminder Singh Pinki.
